Get In My Face

Its January and "the winter time here" but in Cambodia the dry season has just begun. The days are getting warm and hot. The rain has stopped and the "high" season has begun for the tourist to flock there. They come by the boat, bus, and plane full. They seek the sun, the beach, cheap food and beer, and most of all they cum for the fun. Many are in quest of young women that have been sold into slavery by their parents. Not all but many parents raise their young daughters to be virgins so that they might get the highest price for her possible. Its truly sad. The western world is lead to believe that there is a dark underworld that steals these young girls and takes them from there homes and places them in to indentured servitude. In reality these girls are looked at as a burden upon the family. The girls use resources that the family must provide like food. That food could have fed a pig or cow. So the young virgins are sold to whomever will pay the most.

The western men all have this prince charming complex where they must save the young damsel in distress. The girls play the part of the victim (which they are) then when a westerner buys them out of slavery and gives them their freedom, then what? The man returns home thinking he has made the world a better place. He thinks I went to Cambodia, had sex with this young woman, and then bought her out of the brothel paid her debit to the MommaSan. Then often he will take her back to her village thinking she will stay with her family. The same people that sold her to the MommaSan so that they might afford some pigs or cows, and expect her to stay. Stay for what? She has no job, no income, and now she is going to start eating their again..Thus the cycle is continued. After Prince Charming goes back home to his wife and kids, the girl is either re-sold or returns on her own to the brothel. Why would she do this? The answer is where else do you expect a young woman to go that has no education at all, other than what she learned at the brothel. She has no income, no prospects of income, and she is consuming the resources of the family in the village at home.

Its sad when you see a girl show up that you know is underage, she is a virgin every one whispers, she is smiling and giggling as any young girl might in any country in the world. However within a few days or weeks that smile has vanished and the giggles have been silenced never to be seen or heard again. All is changed and she has been converted to a working girl. Running up to the "customers" as they enter through the gate. The westerners pay between $3-5 for a short time and $10-20 for long time all night. The Khemer-Cambodian people pay 75cents for a short time and never do long time from what I observed. A girl is sold to the brothel for between $300-500, of which she will payback several thousand one customer at a time for as little as 75 cents.

Do you have a solution to this dilemma? I am leaving it open for comments. Would love to hear from someone that might have a reasonable answer to the question of suffering.
