Both were attacked by the Federal government for no good reason, for the same reason, to wit: The Feds deciding what drugs, what substances, citizens are allowed to use. Now, as far as I can tell, there is no ethical or moral duty to prevent someone from using any Rx, any Dx, so long as your doctor and your mother don't object. Only those two categories, docs and moms, really have any business telling a rational (or reasonably so) adult, or for that matter, a minor who understands the nature of what is happening. The BALCO fiasco (how much did all of that cost the taxpayers, I wonder . ..

The level of bullshit in the media is sickmaking. The entire Bonds trial was an unholy alliance of mercenary media, mlb, and congress rousing rabble, handing out torches and pitchforks, then, having stampeded the masses, piously declare that they owe "the truth" to the public. As is the case with most people, they are far less willing to admit they were wrong than to aid and abet not just a miscarriage of justice, but a purulent septic abortion of righteousness. Today I made the mistake of tuning into 7 Live, a new, "tech-savvy" hot mess of nonsense.

Yes, it keeps dragging on. I still can't figure out the verdict, other than to assume that the jury just didn't understand what the laws were. Now, this were Federal charges, so it's not like what you see on TV. Barry was charged with making false statements to a Grand Jury. The jury deadlocked on all three of those charges, yet they found Barry GUILTY of obstruction of justice -- ridiculous on the face of it. The law is that one must 1) make a false statement and 2) this must be MATERIAL in the outcome of the hearing.

The Bonds trial is in the hands of the jury now. I've got a lot to say about the abomination I witnessed. The Feds are out of control. The media is full of shit. I'm only going to say this once, BARRY WAS NOT CHARGED WITH PERJURY. What he was charged with is making a false statement to a grand jury, and it's clear that the Feds did not, and could not, meet the burden of proof.

Now I know how my father felt when Muhammed Ali was lynched by our government.

Life Lessons from the Game of Baseball

The 2010 baseball season has come to an end with the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series.
The way they won it, and in fact, the way the game of baseball is played, from Little League to Major Leagues, contains some life lessons we would all be wise to learn.

I always thought this proposition was a crock. I'm tired of politicians trying to sneak deceptive propositions on the ballot because they can't get anything done or pass any laws. If Tom Ammiano can't get a law passed in the Assembly, it's because he's a lousy lawmaker, and I know him to be a lousy person in general, mean, vindictive, and a glad handing sack of shit to anyone with power and money. And that is what 19 was about, money, not "legalization" because we can't do much on the State level until the Feds get around to doing something useful.

THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT! This means a lot of media coming to SF. What do you bet that Nancy Pelosi suddenly finds the time to come back to her district? Maybe she'll find time for a debate.

It's official now, tigers are about to go extinct in the wild, they will be gone by the time the next Year of the Tiger comes along. No surprise to me, I called that one. Of course, we're not allowed to discuss the real reason tigers are dying off, and that is, homo sapiens has "evolved" into carcinoma sapiens, and we are destroying the environment of other species in our out of control fecundity.

The last two weeks of a campaign get the most intense, the most wierd, just like being in the playoffs for a team is, I would imagine. I never got to play sports, just missed Title 10 (and yes, I have issues about that. That's why I can't catch or throw a ball. It's embarrassing. My drill sergeant had to throw my hand grenades for me in Basic Training). Everything comes down to now or never, win or lose, there are no more chances to make up for mistakes.
