And now for something completely different

I was raised in Minnesota by dedicated left wingers in the most politically fascinating time in recent history. When I moved to SF 30 years ago, I was astounded at how conservative the politics are here. It really dusts my crops when I hear political pundits and other addlepates yapping about how "liberal" SF is. I wish. I'm beyond disgusted by how venal, how mendacious, how elitist our elected "Democrat" officials are. Feinstein is probably the most odious of the pack, but Nancy "Leave No Botox Behind" Pelosi is even more duplicitous than she.

Heard this one recently and thought I should share it.

This song reminds me of my Grandparents whom are all gone now. Hope you like it too.

Landis Revisited

It goes without saying that I have nothing but contempt for Bud Selig, who presided over MLB during the so-called steroid era. Rather than take the fall for his obvious obliviousness to the use of steroidal medication to get "pumped up" from the 1980s on, he "protested too much" and was more than happy to throw the players under the bus, and immediately declare a "war on cheating" which including releasing test results that were supposed to be anonymous.

The Feds Try to Shoot Down The Rocket

Now it's Roger Clemen's turn to be used as a distraction from the incompetence and malfeasance of Congress and the Federal Prosecutor's office. He's accused of lying to Congress, imagine that. I wish that the Federal grand jury would take a look at lying in Congress, by Congress, and for Congress, and perhaps take a look at the lies that flew like pigeons on crack during the hearings on the banking scandal. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this particular alleged lie is worthy of the cost of prosecution. There are lies that matter, and those that don't.

The trial is on/Waxman is a tool

The trial is set to begin next March, with pretrial hearings and motions expected to begin in October. That means more money for the lawyers, and more expense to the taxpayers. No one's sure just how much this is costing us, but it's a lot. I'm sure they know. It's also costing Barry Bonds a considerable sum and of course the emotional stress of being on trial. I spent the time waiting in the courtroom to review my notes, to look at some of the articles written over the years.

Medical cannabis in the courts

I remember in 2001, I was one of the 11 that were wittiness that testified in the trial of the People of CA Vs Ken Hayes. It was the last trial in history to use the Medical Defense plea in a "medical" marijuana trial. After Ken was acquitted, the US Supreme Court issued a judgement that Federal Law superseded state law and that marijuana was illegal under federal law and NO ONE may use the word " Medical " marijuana in a trial under federal, state or local laws ever again.

Leave Barry Alone Already

Yesterday I had to sit in Federal court, to learn that the Feds want to go forward on the Barry Bonds case, even though the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals held up Judge Illston's ruling, so now they will have to scramble to come up with a viable case. It's been my considered opinion since the very beginning that there never was much of a case; if this were poker, they wouldn't have a pair of deuces. I sat in the courtroom for about an hour, to hear the lawyers and judge decide when they could all get together, and it looks like it won't be until March of 2011.

It makes me sick to my stomache

To think that people whom I have known for nearly my whole life, some of which were born here in the good OL US of A are being deported after working here and being leaders in the community, creating business's and over all good citizens. Some of these people ran for local mayor and after becoming politically active now have the Federal Government bearing down on them deporting some and splintering the family. Its just wrong. In my opinion its time we send every non-Native back to whatever country they came from or their ancestors came from. Its time we do not discriminate.
